“I was born of goodly parents, but wasn’t raised going to church. I remember
watching movies of stories from the Bible as a young girl and loved them. They touched me in a very special way. How good Jesus was, His miracles and the love He showed to people always inspired me.
I attended church now and then with some friends, but never felt a desire to join their churches. I had made a list of what I felt was important to believe in, and was very surprised that my thoughts were in line with the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the restored church of Jesus Christ.
I was sixteen when I joined the church, and it’s been the greatest blessing in my life. I’ve learned that growing a testimony and conversion is a process. I’m amazed that after 45 years of being a member of the Lord’s church, I’m still learning so much about my relationship with God and growing in the gospel.
With every stage of my life from being a busy mom to now just my husband and me at home, I have opportunities to allow the Lord to work through me to help others in a way I really couldn’t before. My heart rejoices when I feel I can make a small difference in someone’s life. I believe the two great commandments, love God and love our neighbors, will always be the most important things we can do. I have a testimony that by living these two commandments everything else falls into place. No matter what life throws at us we can still feel peace and joy. I know God loves me in my imperfect state, and I’m eternally grateful.”
