EIGHTY ONE

“I was raised in the church, in a home with loving parents. My parents both had callings growing up that allowed them to help guide and direct me spiritually both at home and at church. I remember them at many Wednesday night activities, young women church camps, youth conferences, and church dances.

My conversion started with seeds planted by my parents while growing up, but I feel my conversion truly happened around the time I graduated from high school, and years following. I had chosen to not follow the lessons my parents taught me, and those choices led me down a path of becoming a teen mom. While pregnant I worked on coming back to the teachings of my Savior, and repenting. My bishop assigned me the task of reading the book “The Miracle of Forgiveness” as part of my personal repentance process.

This was a hard book to read through, but has become a favorite of mine. In the pages of this book I found the love of my Heavenly Father. I read examples of how he loves us no matter our choices, and as I prayed for forgiveness, I felt his love for me and knew without a doubt in my mind that Heavenly Father lives and LOVES me. I know now that he does indeed love each and every one of us. I have been able to forgive others and myself more easily as well. I chose to place my sweet boy for adoption, knowing that my Father in Heaven loved me as much as I loved this little boy. He wants what is best for each of us.

I now have my own family and am striving to teach my own kids about the love of our Savior and Heavenly Father. I am thankful for my testimony of the love of my Father, and thankful for this turning point in my life. This trial became a blessing for me and changed me in so many ways.

I became converted as I learned to recognize my Savior’s love in my life. This is the point where I chose to follow Christ and his teachings, my heart was changed for the better and I am seeing blessings more often because of it.”
