NINETY TWO

“I think we’ve all had times in our lives where we feel utterly broken. I know I have. But, when I was younger, I was taught to pray. So, when I felt absolutely alone with no one to talk to, I remembered to kneel down and talk to God.

I poured my soul out to Him, and immediately, I felt okay. My problems didn’t disappear. My stress didn’t evaporate. But, I knew I wasn’t alone, and I felt peace. Later that week, in a choir, I sung the song, “I Know My Redeemer Lives” and it rung true.

Then, a couple years later, my faith was tested again. I felt abandoned by God. I was confused and lost and, again, broken. This time, I turned to God and visited the temple– the house of the Lord.

As I sat in one of the rooms, looking at a painting, I wanted to feel loved by God. However, I couldn’t concentrate with a loud clock ticking on the wall. Right as I was about to give up trying,

The clock broke.

And in the silence, I could hear the song, “I Know that my Redeemer Lives”

I know that my Redeemer lives. I know that God is a God of miracles.

We are never alone. Through Christ, we can be whole. As did the people in the Book of Mormon, with God’s help, we can “build up again a broken people” (Ether 10:1)

And I can promise you that God knows me. God knows you.

We have to choose to be converted each and every single day, because our faith will be tested more than once. But as we continue to choose God and Jesus Christ every single day, our broken parts will be mended. And with the mended pieces, we will feel the greatest joy imaginable.

I am healed. I am Converted.”
