The I Am Converted Story –
I was sitting in sacrament meeting one Sunday. The speakers were a mother and daughter. The mother had been a member since birth, but had ebbed and flowed between activity and inactivity. The daughter, a teenager, was just baptized not long before she spoke in that meeting.
As they spoke about their personal journeys through the gospel, or their conversion stories, the impression came to me that everyone has some sort of conversion to the gospel. No matter how grand or simple it may seem. I reflected on my own life, and although I have been a member for my entire life, I too can trace my life back to a specific period of time when I came to the knowledge that this gospel is the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
When I got home from church that day I continued to ponder this thought, and the idea of this project hit me like a wave.
This project has evolved so much since that day. It is no longer defined by one simple thing for me.
I want people of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, orientations, and cultures to be apart of this project.
I want everyone to know that they have a space here in this church and in this community. You are not alone in your trials, struggles, and triumphs.
I have been so blessed and inspired by stories of conversion, and my hope is that you are able to feel closer to our Savior through this project.
