SIXTY TWO

“True conversion to Jesus Christ is a life-long pursuit. I am grateful for the many moments in my life- moments of sadness and joy, feeling lonely and loved, the ups and the downs, feeling converted and feeling as though I still have a deeper conversion to reach.

The beauty of Heavenly Father’s plan is allowing eternal progression for us and our loved ones- for all of His children. Conversion throughout our lives is necessary to progress so we can become like our Heavenly Father.

Not only is conversion gaining a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but it also means living it. Doing so takes a constant and conscious effort.

My conversion has come “because of [me] yielding [my] heart unto God.” (Helaman 3:35). As I have always strived to submit to and align my will with God’s, I have found joy and peace in my life that can’t be found anywhere else.

However, finding the will of the Lord and following it is not always easy. Oftentimes, it is uncomfortable. Even Jesus Christ had to submit to the will of the Father (Matthew 26:39). Jesus Christ knows and understands on a personal level what it’s like for us to yield our hearts to God and to put off the natural man.

I’ve learned that the Lord doesn’t want our time, talents, possessions, ect.- we don’t really give those to him, because He already gave those things to us. He wants our hearts to be all in. Our agency is truly the only personal and unique thing we can give to God, so when we choose to give our hearts to Him, that’s when those special moments of conversion come.

My favorite scripture is John 14:27. It says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

I am grateful that I have trusted God with my heart. As we do all we can to strengthen our conversion and put the Lord first in all things, peace will come to our hearts in the end- in one way or another. There is peace in Christ even when the whirlwinds of life are crazy.”
